Christmas 2010 is officially over...
I hate that I have completely abandoned my reverb10 posts...but it has just been absolutely impossible to sit down and type these past two weeks! Work has been so consuming that on my days off, all I want to do is lay on my bed and do nothing...not that I have been completely successful with that wishful thought...what with the kids needing to be fed and taken care of, and all. Seeing the prompts in my e-mail still gets my thoughts in motion though, and many of them really get you to think about the past year and what it has been. I am so glad to have captured my year in so many pictures because moments that would have been otherwise blurry in my head, become much clearer when I look back in pictures. And so I share my year, and what a wonderful year it has been, in pictures...but I know the next year will be even better!

~11 Things~
December 11 – 11 Things What are 11 things your life doesn’t need in 2011? How will you go about eliminating them? How will getting rid of these 11 things change your life? [Author: Sam Davidson]
11 Things:
1. Negative people - phase them out and lessen my interactions with them
2. Financial worries - LET IT GO! easier said than done...
3. Sweating the small stuff - I will get over it and not sweat it anymore! again, easier said than done...
4. Blackberry - can I get an iPhone please?
5. Junk food - I need to eat healthier and exercise...that's my plan in 2011, just like I planned in '09 for '10...
So this is the best I came up with...really...I don't have anything I need to get rid of, in terms of material things. I am more practical these days, as a necessity...but what I truly want to get rid of in my life, going forward...is my tendency to "sweat the small stuff" or feel the need to be in control...I think that once I let go of those things, I will be a much happier person! And in 2011...I want financial freedom!

~Wisdom.Party.Beautifully Different~
December 10 – Wisdom Wisdom. What was the wisest decision you made this year, and how did it play out? [Author: Susannah Conway]
May 2010 - spoke up to my former superior at work to give me an opportunity to interview for a position in another department...WISEST decision of the year!!! As a result, I am enjoying my new role...learning so much and being challenged in many ways...so glad I got up the nerve to speak up...
December 9 – Party Prompt: Party. What social gathering rocked your socks off in 2010? Describe the people, music, food, drink, clothes, shenanigans. [Author: Shauna Reid]
Most social gatherings I attend are work related...don't get me wrong, they are absolute shenanigans! Two of the three I am going to mention are functions from work...
#1 Management Party at the Manhattan (a local lounge) - absolute shenanigans with great food, wine, music, the works!!! To add cherry on top of this sundae of a party...our former Managing Director, Bud Cole, offered everyone in attendance a trip to Tokyo to see his new home!!! What did I say? SHENANIGAN!!!
#2 The DFS 50th Anniversary Gala at the Hyatt Regency Guam - a sit-down dinner, with a string quartet, a band and a DJ...LOVED IT! click here for my post on that party...
#3 Paige Gabriella's Sweet Shoppe, first birthday party - my baby girl's 1st birthday party had been planned since she was about two months old...yes, I am a bit of a planner! I wanted everything to be close to perfect, and to maximize every dollar I spent. Many visits at the local Ross Department Store were spent perusing the home department for some candy jars, and other random "cute stuff." I frequented Ben Franklin (a local craft store) and found some apothecary jars perfect for candies, and many nights were spent "googling" everything about birthday themes and decorations. I shopped on ebay, etsy and any website that might ship to Guam. With such limited resources in Guam, the internet became a necessity. I clicked on so many websites to get ideas...initially, my theme was "Candyland" and I had the perfect vision...then it morphed into "Sweet Shoppe" because of all the different things I found on-line...I was so proud of that party because everything came together so perfectly! I made so many different things, from center pieces to a candy topiary...and my how fast this year just came and went...my little baby will be two in less than three weeks!
December 8 – Beautifully Different. Think about what makes you different and what you do that lights people up. Reflect on all the things that make you different – you’ll find they’re what make you beautiful. [Author: Karen Walrond]
I'd like to think that what makes me beautifully different is my generous heart. I don't really know if others see me that way, but my heart is always willing to give, especially to those less fortunate than I am. Having spent my younger years in Cebu, Philippines I saw poverty at its worst and I am always thankful that my parents worked very hard to give my sister and I a good life. The other thing that I would like to think that makes me beautifully different is my sense of humor...I know that I always make my husband laugh, and I sure am fun to be with ;-)

A Dazzling Affair
Last Friday, we had our annual holiday party...very much anticipated (as always), especially for those associates who were not able to make it to our company's 50th Anniversary Gala. Well, as a Committee Member, I am so proud to say, it did not disappoint. It was a well attended event, complete with a professional host, a live band, and a DJ for dancing! We had a few dance contest performers, who not only entertained us, but also created an environment of friendly competition between the departments they represented. All in all, it was an awesome evening of food, drinks and dancing...and it can only best we recapped through some photos...
